STIRLING

This new build on the outskirts of Stirling had lovely views of the surrounding countryside but simply grass and paving for a garden. The clients wanted to be able to enjoy the evening sunshine in the front garden and surround seating areas with planting.

A dining terrace was added to the front garden using small setts that matched the existing large pavers elsewhere. The whole front garden was surrounded by a low, mixed hedge to introduce a feeling of privacy without blocking the views.

New planting beds were cut out of the lawns in the front and rear gardens and filled with wildlife-friendly perennials and grasses. The clients are delighted at the number of pollinators that now visit the garden - including a rare butterfly spotted during the UK's Big Butterfly Count.
