PORTOBELLO

The owners of this small back garden are keen plant lovers but needed help re-imagining the space at the same time as internal work was being done to the house.

One priority was to provide an attractive focal point in the garden when viewed from the house. This was achieved with a sculptural curved bench made from paddlestones to suit the seaside setting.

The limestone paving is a blend of large pavers and small setts, which subtly divide the garden into different zones and bring an elegant feel to a small space. Towards the back of the garden is a raised bed for herbs made from cedar sleepers.

The clients have recently asked me back to complete their front garden (photos to follow!).
