This garden in Dunblane was rarely used by its young family. The clients wanted front and back gardens that looked attractive and that they could enjoy together. The garden had many awkward features, including a rotten deck, strangely shaped paths and a fence that cut off half of the driveway.

The driveway fence was removed to facilitate parking and open up the side of the house, The entrance path to the front door was moved and planting beds reshaped to create a more natural access route. The back garden was designed on an angle to create visual interest in a long, thin space. Stylish porcelain pavers were mixed with the existing setts, which were cleaned, relaid and mortared to minimise weeds.

The garden is recently planted but designed to be very colourful and wildlife friendly. Log stacks underneath bench seats act as bug hotels. There are several fruit trees and a dedicated area for growing vegetables.
